Nicole Ari Parker has worked on film, television as well as on stage. She was best known for playing Teri (the spirited lawyer) Joseph. The family was born to Mumbai, India and raised in Nigeria up to the age of seven. Contractor was a seasoned traveler who enjoyed world travels and a variety of different cultures from a young age. After attending boarding schools for seven years in London the family moved to Toronto Canada where she lived for the majority of her childhood and into early adulthood. When she was in Toronto, Contractor excelled in academics and became an classical ballerina. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts which was a highly specialized high school that taught not only dance, but also theater. When she was 16 after a decade of years of dancing, Contractor realized she wanted to take up acting as a profession. After graduating high school, she received a full-time scholarship to the University of Toronto, where she pursued a masters in theater and a dual major in sociology and psychology. Contractor was given the lead part in Pericles after a one-year stint in University. She auditioned for the role at Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and received. After 92 performances, she received glowing reviews. The play was deemed the best production by Canadian critics. Contractor accepted an invitation to attend Stratford's Conservatory program. The Conservatory has only 8 men and four females are admitted to a course of 20 weeks of classical theater. Contractor's participation in the next play-season was confirmed and she received the role of Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
